Retired Air Force Col. Kimberly Olson was the first woman to attend and graduate undergraduate pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. Due to her willingness to become a pilot, an outdated policy was changed to allow women the opportunity to apply to pilot training while in Officer Training School.

Adventure Race XII is slated to begin April 23 at 7 a.m. on Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. The race will include a 3 to 4-mile run on Laughlin with various mystery challenges along the way, a 23-mile bike ride and a mile-long rafting portion.
