On June 14, 2014, the Laughlin Honor Guard attended the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Flag Day ceremony and performed a flag detail.

Flag Day honors the day the Second Continental Congress adopted the nation's flag June 14, 1777.

The BPOE began the tradition of honoring the U.S. flag in a ceremony on June 14, 1907 and later convinced President Woodrow Wilson to issue a proclamation in 1916 officially naming June 14 as Flag Day.
