Laughln Air Force Base policy on travel to Mexico

USAF Office of Special InvestigationsThe policy below applies to all active duty, Reservists and National Guard personnel assigned to Laughlin Air Force Base, 47th Flying Training Wing or tenant units. The policy applies to these groups for ANY Mexico travel.

All DoD civilians, contractors and family members going on official travel to off limits areas must comply with current procedures. It is strongly recommended they avoid off limits areas on non-official travel as well. Restrictions are subject to change with current threat.

All travel into and through any portion of Mexico within 50 statute miles of the US-Mexican border is prohibited. Included in this region are the cities of Piedras Negras, Nuevo Laredo, Monterrey, Matamoras, Tijuana, Ciudad Juarez, Ciudad Acuna, Reynosa, Las Palomas, Agua Prieta, Sasabe, Naco and Sonoyta, Mexico. The entire Mexican states of Tamaulipas, Sinaloa, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Chihuahua, Michoacan, Durango, Jalisco, Zacatecas and San Luis Potosi are off limits. The Mexican State of Guerrero (including Acapulco) is considered a high-thret region and should be avoided.

All non-official travel (leave and pass) for active duty, activated reserve and National Guard personnel is prohibited until further notice to the cities of Nogales, Piedras Negras, Nuevo Laredo, Monterrey and Matamoras Tijuana, Cuidad Juarez, Cuidad Acuna, Reynosa, Las Palomas, Agua Prieta, Sasabe, Naco and Sonoyta, Mexico. Also off-limits are the Mexican states of Chihuahua and Durango.
