LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas-- Daniel Cinnamon and David Garcia, Eagle Scout candidates and Life Scouts from Troop 280, meet with Del Rio Mayor Efrain Valdez while building a toddler playground structure for local children to enjoy June 27. Daniel, son of Lt. Col. John Cinnamon, 86th Flying Training Squadron commander, and David, son of Mr. Jerry Garcia, the Real Property Officer for Laughlin and a member of the 47th Installation Support Squadron, spearheaded the project and were responsible for organizing the volunteer team and obtaining donations from the local business community. LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Second Lt. Jimmy Tanis, 47th Operations Support Squadron, settles under the weight before lifting at the Bench Press competition at the Losano Fitness Center here July 25. Lieutenant Tanis was the top competitor out of 16 others, as he lifted 345 pounds, 168 pounds more than his body weight. Capt. LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Col. Craig Wills, 47th Operations Group commander, receives the 47th OG guidon from Col. Jeffrey McDaniels, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, during the group’s change-of-command ceremony here recently. Prior to joining the Laughlin team he served as a Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University. Col. LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas--Rozlyn Bermea, honorary Pilot for a Day, and 1st Lt. Nikki Jansen, 85th Flying Training Squadron, stand beside the T-6 Texan II that has Rozlyn’s name stenciled on it, a tradition usually reserved for crew chiefs and commanders, while participating in Laughlin’s Pilot for a Day program July 28. Rozlyn recently endured a 12-hour surgery to remove a tumor on her brain and although the tumor is currently non-malignant, she must undergo a complete check-up every three months to ensure the tumor does not return.
