AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS CENTER: Your A&FRC should be one of the first stops as you arrive at Laughlin -- we are located in building 468 at 548 Laughlin Drive. Moving can be stressful! Our professional staff can link you to a myriad of services specifically designed to enhance your ability to get settled into your new hometown of Del Rio, Texas. No question is too big or too small -- from getting the kids registered in school to dealing with your finances. Our staff are experts and can provide you personal services to link you to resources in the local community, updating your personal financial plan, coping with unexpected financial challenges from the move, career coaching for spouses, redesigning your personal readiness plan, introducing new spouses to military life, marriage enrichment, linking you to volunteer opportunities, parenting skills building, elder care resources and more!
RELOCATION TOOLS: Plan My Move and Military Installations provide our Airmen and family members the next generation of automated relocation tools. These relocation resources are available on both Military OneSource and MilitaryHOMEFRONT You can customize these interactive tools to provide high quality info and resources to help you manage your move more effectively.
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE WHILE TRAVELING: What should you do in case of an emergency while you are traveling? First of all, make sure you have all important documents (orders, ID cards, passport, travelers' checks, etc.) with you and not packed with your household goods. While traveling, it is important to have contact information for your commander, command support staff, and sponsor readily available should an emergency arise.
If you do find yourself in an emergency situation, contact our Command Post for assistance by calling (830) 298-5167.
The American Red Cross and the Air Force Aid Society are available for emergency assistance. They can provide emergency financial assistance and contact individuals that will need to know where you are and what is happening.
To reach your family in times of emergency need, call the American Red Cross Armed Forces Emergency Service Center by calling 1-877-272-7337. You an also reach the American Red Cross from anywhere in Texas by calling (800) 775-6803.
The Air Force Aid Society is a non-profit organization that helps the Air Force take care of its own in emergencies through interest-free loans or grants for basic needs. The Air Force Aid Society can be reached through any military installation or by calling 1-800-769-8951. All the military services and the American Red Cross have reciprocal agreements with the Air Force Aid Society to assist people in emergency situations.

LODGING: The Lodging Office at the Laughlin Manor is the 24-hour arrival point for Laughlin AFB. Personnel on-duty stand ready to assist you in contacting your sponsor or your unit to obtain temporary quarters. Security Forces at the main gate will direct you to the Laughlin Manor, DSN 732-5731 or (830) 298-5731.
HOUSING OFFICE: The Family Housing Office provides both on-base and off-base housing information. Experienced, knowledgeable personnel will assist you with off-base rental and sales listings of houses and apartments. Incoming officers should call (830) 298-5732 or DSN 732-5732; incoming enlisted members should call (830) 298-5733 or DSN 732-5733.

LOAN LOCKER: Need some household items to hold you over until your household good arrive? The Loan Locker can be your source of loaner pot and pans, dishes, silverware, folding tables & chairs and futons. Located in Su Casa, our outreach center in Base Housing, call the A&FRC for details.
RIGHT START: The Wing Commander's formal welcome to newcomers, this mandatory 1/2 day of briefings is designed to inform you on the mission, introduce you to key support agencies and base policies. Spouses are encouraged to attend! {Bonus is that you'll take care of many annual briefing requirements by attending.} Held the 2nd Tuesday of each month, we start at 7:15 sharp (hint, hint don't be late) with a personal brief by the Wing Commander or Vice Wing Commander as well as the Command Chief.
SCHOOLS: The majority of Laughlin's students attend the local public schools. The A&FRC also has a list of private schools and home schooling options. Here is some information on the local school system: http://www.sfdr-cisd.org/
CHILD CARE FOR PCS: Have little ones? Stop by the A&FRC and get a certificate for 20 hours of free childcare {per child} to use in your first 60 days.
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER: The Laughlin AFB Child Development Center (CDC) offers comprehensive age-appropriate activities for ages six weeks through five years of age. Please call the CDC for further information or to schedule reservations at (830) 298-5419 or DSN 732-5419.
FAMILY CHILD CARE (FCC) PROVIDERS: The Laughlin AFB Family Child Care Coordinator (FCC) maintains a list of people licensed to provide in-home care on base as well as the types of care they provide. For more information on this program contact the FCC at Comm (830) 298-5631 or DSN 732-5631 or the Family Support Center at (830) 298-5620 or DSN 732-5620. Employment opportunities exist with the FCC Program for military spouses living on base.
