The 47th Flying Training Wing command team visited the 47th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs office during Airman’s Time at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, Aug. 18, 2026. 

The session gave U.S. Air Force Col. Eric Bissonette, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Kilbride, 47th Operations Support Squadron senior enlisted leader, an opportunity to learn about the various functions of Public Affairs, including conducting official Air Force portraits, studio photography, uniform inspections and developing graphic products for command information. 

Public Affairs plays a critical role in communicating the wing’s mission, informing Airmen and connecting Laughlin with the local community. PA Airmen use photography, videography, graphic design and communication skills to accurately document and share the people, missions and accomplishments that make up Team XL. 

Airman’s Time provides opportunities for professional development, mentorship and cross-functional learning across the wing.
