Members of Team XL are taking the stage with Del Rio's community theater group and are really making a scene in the ongoing performance of "Curtains".

The production is presented by The Upstagers, Del Rio's award-winning community theater group. Of the 39 cast and crew members performing "Curtains", about half of the Upstagers are affiliated with Laughlin either as military, civilian employees or family members.

"It's nice to have people from Laughlin get involved with the group because they bring a difference of skills to the stage whether it's dancing, singing, prop work or sound tech," said Robert Wade, 47th Maintenance Directorate chief of data management.

The Upstagers, an all volunteer theater group, invites everyone to attend their shows. The group is open to anyone willing to take a shot at the stage and always welcomes new talent.

"We encourage everyone to see at least one show to feel the energy and if they like it, they should try for a part," said Ben Graf, 47th Civil Engineer Squadron engineer flight chief.

Tickets to the show are $16 for adults and $12 for students if purchased at the door, tickets are two dollars cheaper if purchased in advance from any of the cast and crew or a few local businesses including: As Always Simply Beautiful, Subs and Clubs, The Emporium, Del-Tex RV, and Diamond's Salon. All performances are at the Paul Poag Theatre, 746 S. Main St, Del Rio, Texas

"Our audience consists of people from around the country," said Wade. "So many people have come to our shows and remarked that our performances are as good as, if not sometimes better, than professional shows."

The performance of "Curtains" by the Upstagers had its opening Aug. 2. The show is scheduled for another two showings Aug. 9 and 10.

"With live entertainment there is a dynamic that develops between the audience and the actors on stage," said Graf. "The two groups feed off each other for energy and excitement. Come out and experience the show!"
