Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas -- It’s hard to believe it's been two years.
During my tenure as your command chief, I have witnessed true strength, dedication and excellence.
Together, we have weathered our share of storms (literally), and each time we have joined together and continued to execute our critical mission of graduating the world’s best military pilots for national security.
Over the past couple weeks, I have been reflecting on my time here and the amazing Airmen I have been honored to serve with.
From pushing a T-6 Texan II into the hangar out of the hail, to watching a new dorm kitchen go in and learning about drawing blood from new UPT students; working alongside each of you has made this assignment great.
I also must acknowledge the wonderful partnership with our Del Rio Community. It is the best I have seen in my 24 years. They truly are a small Texas town with a big Texas heart.
I know there is still work to be done, and Team XL you are the right Airmen for the job.
I am confident you will continue to graduate the world’s best military pilots, deploy mission ready warriors, and develop professional, resilient, innovative Airmen!
As I transition to the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, I leave here a better Airman having known and learned from each of you.
Tam XL – You rock!
Proud to have been your command chief,
Chief Clapper
