'Country on the Border:' Laughlin celebrates through music
An evening of award-winning music by chart-topping artists kicks off Laughlin’s 47th Anniversary of the 47th Flying Training Wing, at 5 p.m. June 22, 2019 at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. Key performers will be Easton Corbin, a multiple award winner with two number-one singles and key performing artist on Carrie Underwood’s 2016 The Storyteller Tour, and Thompson Square, an internationally renowned country duo with two Top 5 albums and multiple Grammy Award nominations.

Airman 1st Class Sahira Contreras, 47th Medical Support Squadron referral management technician, was chosen by wing leadership to be the “XLer” of the week, for the week of May 27, 2019, at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. The “XLer” award, presented by Col. Andrew Cruz, 47th Medical Group commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jose Diaz, 47th MDG superintendent, is given to those who consistently make outstanding contributions to their unit and the Laughlin mission.
