  • Laughlin Water Report Released

    Every year Laughlin AFB is mandated by the State of Texas and the Environmental Protection Agency to publish the annual water sampling results for Laughlin AFB’s and Laughlin AFB Recreation Area’s drinking water. These reports are designed to inform the consumer what is in their drinking water at Laughlin AFB and Laughlin AFB Recreation Area. The two reports can be found on Laughlin AFB’s public website at http://www.laughlin.af.mil/. In summary, the drinking water at Laughlin AFB and Laughlin AFB Recreation Area meet all drinking water requirements set forth by the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Act.

    All Laughlin members are invited to attend Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Class 19-16’s graduation ceremony at 10:30 a.m., May 31, 2019, in Anderson Hall, here. Col. (retired) Michael J. Lepper, former United States North American Aerospace Defense Command director of the commander’s action line, will be the guest speaker. Awards and special recognition will be given to outstanding graduates.

    Airman 1st Class Justin Welch, 47th Flying Training Wing Command Post emergency actions controller, was chosen by wing leadership to be the “XLer” of the week, for the week of May 20, 2019, at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. The “XLer” award, presented by Col. Lee Gentile, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, is given to those who consistently make outstanding contributions to their unit and the Laughlin mission.
  • Laughlin observes its own for Memorial Day

    “It’s been a tough 18 months for Team XL,” said Col. Lee Gentile, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, as he contemplated the wing’s preparation for a memorial service for 2nd Lt. Kristofer Saenz, who was killed in a car accident May 18, 2019. “We’ve lost four vital members in about 18 months. That is never easy for a small wing like ours to handle,” he said.
  • Benjamin Rawald named Air Force Military Child of the Year

    Nominated twice before, Benjamin Rawald from Del Rio, Texas, was named the 2019 Air Force Military Child of the Year Award. Benjamin, a 17-year-old junior, has dedicated years of effort with the Boy Scouts of America, which has brought him to the attention of the community and the nation.
