    The 47th Medical Group pushed their abilities in the first Ready Eagle exercise at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, on the week of Jan.13, 2020. The week-long exercise taught, coached and tested the newly-learned skills the Ready Eagle team brought to the 47th MDG.
  • The 2020 Fiesta of Flight is coming to Laughlin

    Coming Saturday, March 14, 2020, the Fiesta of Flight Air and Space Expo will kick off at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. This free event, featuring the U.S. Air Demonstration Squadron, also known as the Thunderbirds, will include aerial acts from across the United States, static displays, and demonstrations from several agencies.

    Ever since she was young, Airman 1st class Sahira Contreras, 47th Healthcare Operations Squadron referral management technician, saw her Dad in uniform and knew that’s the life she wanted when she was older. Her Dad always supported her goals to follow in his footsteps, so when she finished high school at age 17, her parents co-singed for her to join the U.S. Air Force.
  • Laughlin observes National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

    LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Defenders do more than scan Identification Cards at the front gate. Many have deployed overseas and have been in combat situations. For this very reason, Defenders work and train extensive hours to stay sharp at all times. Every year on Jan. 9, the nation takes a day to celebrate and honor the service of all law enforcement agencies around the country and abroad as Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. This includes military law enforcement’s public service to ensure members of Laughlin work and live in a safe, threat-free environment.
  • Renovations at Laughlin’s Youth Center underway

    A few weeks back when Santa Claus came to Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, he visited base leadership and dropped off all his presents for the year, and then took right off back to the North Pole. One base facility whose list did not go unnoticed, however, was the Youth Center. Starting this year, the center is sporting a new look. Along with fresh coats of paint, new flooring and all new workstations, the new look’s purpose is to invoke a sense of home life and relaxation.

  • Laughlin’s unexpected visit from Santa spreads holiday cheer, enhances pilot training

    Santa Claus, supreme allied commander of the North Pole, arrived at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, Dec. 17, 2019. As part of an ongoing cooperation between Laughlin and the North Pole, the meeting seeks to enhance the base’s Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training program by providing student pilots an opportunity of a lifetime—delivering presents all across the United States.
