Summer surge moving season Published June 6, 2013 47th Logistics Readiness Division LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Another peak moving season is upon us and the Traffic Management Flight and Joint Personal Property Shipping Office anticipate a significant challenge in securing household goods packing and picking-up dates during the summer surge. Through July 31, JPPSOs have instituted measures to reduce customer wait times. Along with the three week notice for all shipments and shipment requests, JPPSO will require an alternate packing and pickup date. Members are advised to keep their phones and email connected until shipments are picked up. Traffic Management Flight recommends Laughlin customers call 298-5602 if they have not been contacted by a transportation service provider 10 days prior to the requested packing and picking up date. It is vital to contact TMF or JPPSO if TSPs refuse to service members' shipment. Customers are required to obtain a Defense Personal Property System user login at www.move.mil. This login will enable customers to check the booking status of their shipments, TSP name and phone number as well as complete a customer satisfaction survey after delivery at destination. These measures are necessary to ensure quality service is provided, due to factors beyond JPPSOs control including equipment shortages, increased commercial moves and more. As always, TMF will work to the best of their abilities to ensure customer satisfaction. For more information contact the 47th LRD at 298-5388.
