The annual Air Force Assistance Fund campaign, which will give service members a chance to donate to benefit their fellow Airmen, begins March 4.

The AFAF is a campaign that raises money for four charities that support military members: the Air Force Aid Society, Air Force Enlisted Village, Air Force Village and the General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay foundation.

"The AFAF is the easiest way to help those who have served and are currently serving our great country," said Capt. Steve Graves, 86th Flying training Squadron chief of training and installation project officer. "The four foundations the donations go to, help widows and widowers live a life worthy of the sacrifice they gave throughout their lives and also aid Airmen in need of an emergency or education grant, which touch more than 40,000 Airmen a year."

The goal this year is to raise more than $30,000 explained Graves, but he believes Laughlin can surpass last year's total of $38,752.

"This is a great cause to get involved with and is an easy way for Airmen to take care of their wingman," said Graves.

All personnel, assigned to Laughlin, military, civilian or contractor may donate by contacting their unit project officer.
