Toastmasters meet and greet Published Jan. 25, 2013 47th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Laughlin's Toastmasters Club will host a meeting open to Team XL at the base chapel annex Jan. 29. The club is designed to help participants improve their public speaking and leadership skills through interaction and feedback from their peers. "Speaking in public is difficult even for the best of us and a lot of times we are our own worst critic," said Veronica McCoy, Laughlin Toastmasters Club vice president. "The point is to make you more confident in your day-to-day interactions through honest feedback by those you know and are comfortable with." Those interested in joining are encouraged to attend the meeting from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. to see how the club is run. "It's a great benefit for anyone in any position and helps improve etiquette and people skills regardless of your job or position," said McCoy. For more information about the club and upcoming meetings contact Carmen Aguirre, Laughlin Toastmasters Club president, at 298-4629.
