For the last several years, Laughlin has hosted an annual Oktoberfest celebration, known to be one of the most successful events on base. This year's event is scheduled for Oct. 20.

Oktoberfest begins at 6 p.m. and last until midnight, and will be held outside of Club XL.

The cost of admission is $15 if you pre-purchase your ticket or $18 at the door. Children 4-to 11-years-old get in for $5, and children three and under get in free. Members will receive a $2 discount on all tickets.

Each ticket will include a commemorative glass mug as well as three tickets to be spent on food or drinks. In addition, those attending can partake in countless activities for people of all ages including a keg toss, a bratwurst eating contest, yodeling and bobbing for apples.

For the children, there will be a bounce castle and an inflatable obstacle course as well as cotton candy, popcorn and soda.

When the activities wear you out, you can enjoy a vast array of German food and drinks including turkey legs, soft pretzels, bratwurst, sauerkraut and more.

There will also be more than $1500 worth of prizes including a 42 inch television and an Xbox 360.

"It was a really successful event last year, and we had a lot of fun," said 1st Lt Yaira Nevarez, Oktoberfest organizer.

Anyone interested in attending can purchase tickets at Club XL, Stripes, Cactus Lanes Bowling Alley, Leaning Pine Golf Course, Silver Wings or at the door. Call 298-5134 for more information
