Why he XLed: He demonstrated exceptional safety awareness when he and a co-worker arrived at work on June 21 and noticed a co-worker's car on fire. He took immediate action by grabbing a fire extinguisher and putting out the fire. His quick work saved the co-worker's vehicle and prevented damage to the other parked vehicles near it. His actions also saved the fire department $1,100 in resources.
