Developing better practices Published June 7, 2012 47th Force Support Squadron LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- With the Consolidated Unit Inspection only months away, units within the 47th Flying Training Wing should be creating better practices to be included with inspection material. According to the Air Force Best Practice program, better practices are superior methods of innovative practices that contribute to improved performance. Since 2002, Air Education and Training Command has approved 45 best practices with a total savings of more than 30 million dollars. Laughlin has the opportunity to contribute to these figures by submitting best practices taking place within the wing. Better practices can be found in every corner of Laughlin. The basic guidelines which designate a best practice may include: expert review of the practice by process experts, clearly superior results when compared to similar organizations, employing the latest technology, and high numbers of customer satisfaction. To ensure better practices are included in the CUI report as a strength, all practices should be submitted by Aug. 3. For guidance on submitting a best practice, contact the 47th Force Support Squadron Manpower and Organization office at (830) 298-5431.
