The Government Travel Card is back Published April 27, 2012 47th Comptroller Squadron LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Air Force announced it is transitioning from the Controlled Spend Account travel card back to the more familiar Government Travel Card. Since the implementation of the CSA, many travelers have experienced problems ranging from simple card use to more serious problems such as funds not being loaded or ATMs rejecting the card. Making matters worse, a traveler with last minute orders would have to contact the bank to request spend limit increases, an additional and unnecessary stress. By going back to the GTC travelers will once again have the security of a preset credit limit. With more than 1,200 CSA cardholders here at Laughlin not all cardholders will automatically convert back to the GTC. If you were delinquent or never used the CSA card, you will not convert. Currently there are 202 cardholders in this category and on June 18, their CSA cards will simply be turned off. These cardholders will receive email from finance notifying them of the cancellation and instructing them to contact their agency program coordinators to apply for a GTC if they have travel plans. Deployers, or anyone scheduled to deploy prior to July 31 will automatically convert back to the GTC and be subject to a credit check post deployment. The 47th Comptroller Squadron will provide training to all appointed squadron APC. If you have any questions, please contact Master Sgt.
