Laughlin to hold Sept. 11 ceremony

Laughlin is scheduled to host a remembrance ceremony here Sept. 11 from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m in Heritage Park.

During the ceremony, the lives of those lost on Sept. 11, 2011 will be remembered. The ceremony will also pay tribute to those who served and continue to serve our nation in the armed forces and first responder organizations.

Protestant Church services have been rescheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the chapel annex to accommodate those who would like to attend the ceremony. Catholic services will be held in the base chapel at 9:30 a.m. as regularly scheduled. Shuttle services from the base chapel to Heritage Park will be provided beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Col. Mike Frankel, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, will be the guest speaker during the ceremony. Additionally, Club XL is scheduled to be open from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a special lunch buffet to honor the occasion.

All 47th FTW Airmen, civilians, contractors and their families are invited to attend the ceremony. There is no uniform requirement for servicemembers who attend as spectators.
