Advanced Fitness Program offers Laughlin members options Published July 6, 2011 By Jessica Brown 47th Flying Training Wing public affairs LAUGHLIN AIR FOCE BASE, Texas -- Are you tired of your routine gym workout? Would you like to spice up your routine? Laughlin's new Advanced Fitness Program can help. The program begins July 11 at 9:30 a.m. in Building 360, which is Laughlin's old gymnasium, and will offer Laughlin members an opportunity to vary their workout routine. For those who appreciate a challenge, the program will boost muscle strength and conditioning by combining the benefits of multiple different types of workouts. Furthermore, the workouts are unlike any other offered by the Losano Fitness Center, such as Zumba or spinning, because they use equipment like fitness bands, kettlebells, weight equipment, squat stands, power rings, barbells, squat stands, pull-up bars and weighted vests. "The Advanced Fitness Program is a conglomeration of different military physical fitness programs," said 1st Lt. Ryan Jefferson, 47th Force Support Squadron deputy sustainment flight commander. "It is designed to build strength and conditioning." The program is aimed at helping individuals obtain and maintain fitness. The course is instructed by several certified trainers who are well prepared to help any participant achieve his or her full potential. "This training is universal, there is no specific skill level needed," said Jefferson. "Our goal is for participants to be challenged, to get into better shape and to develop a better fitness level." Any Laughlin member 18 years or older is welcome to attend with no fees or registration.
