Angela Martin 47th Flying Training Wing public affairs LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- After a long week of intense inspections, the 47th Medical Group received an overall satisfactory rating with in-garrison medical operations and leadership earning excellent. "The bottom line is, the IG inspection and civilian accreditation survey validate the outstanding quality of care being provided within the medical group while at the same time ensuring this wing is prepared to deploy medically-ready warriors in support of the combatant commanders," said Col Pete Peters, 47 MDG Commander. Inspectors said they were impressed with all areas of the 47th MDG. For instance, inspectors claimed the Health and Wellness Center to be a true star, one of the best HAWCs seen in over 50 bases. Medical group preparations were seen as outstanding all around with excellent preparations and escorts. Everyone was said to be helpful and willing to go above and beyond to meets patients' needs. From optometry to the dental clinic, from flight medicine to family practice, patients of Laughlin's clinic can rest assured knowing the 47th MDG strives to maintain the highest standards in every section of the clinic. "Although the final report will not be provided within 45 days of the inspection, we were told that there really is no doubt the clinic was reaccredited for the maximum duration of three years," said Lt.
