Laughlin members at all fitness levels are invited to participate in the XLerators, the new running club here. The XLerators meet at 6:30 a.m. every Wednesday and Thursday, at the Losano Fitness Center.

The running club began in an effort to offer more group opportunities to help prepare for the new fitness standards, which began in Aug.

"We welcome all runners, walkers, joggers and even 'stroller mommas' to join us," said Stacee Smith, the Installation Health & Wellness Center dietitian.

No experience is needed and there are beginners, intermediate and advanced levels available within the XLerators.

"It's been great motivation," said Staff Sgt. Israel Espinoza, 47th Medical Group. "Since PCSing here, I started to lose motivation to run, but the group has really helped me get back into it and push myself."

Running plans are also available for those who want to train for a half marathon.

"We keep it simple and keep it self-paced. We are here to help challenge each other and offer group camaraderie," said Smith.
