AFSO21 improves capabilities of RSU

Members from Laughlin's Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century office and the 47th Operations Group recently met to discuss ways to increase productivity and cut unnecessary costs for the Honcho Runway Supervisory Unit here.

Captains Sven Lundberg and Dave Jenkins, 47th Operations Group, joined the AFSO21 team and developed the following key improvements:

-60 percent reduction in the amount of time it takes to drive to Honcho RSU

-75 percent reduction in the amount of distance traveled to arrive at Honcho RSU, which equals:

-25 gallons of fuel saved each month

-300 less miles traveled per month

-50 percent reduction in briefing times for RSU crews

-87 percent reduction in foreign object debris checks per day

AFSO21 is a new Air Force initiative dedicated to improving work processes and combat capabilities across the Air Force.
