COMMENTARY -- 47th FTW commander wishes Laughlin a happy Thanksgiving

LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  Team XL, 

The holidays are upon us and we have so much to be thankful for: our great country, families, friends, and each other. 

I am writing this as a reminder to be safe over the Thanksgiving Day 4-day weekend. 

The guiding principles of safety continue to be important to our daily activities at work, with our families and out in the community. 

I encourage each of you to keep making smart choices as you engage in recreation and travel.

If you're planning to travel on any long drives this weekend, make sure you are well rested, avoid drinking and driving, and stay tuned to weather forecasts.

Rain and snow are projected to impact portions of the Country Friday, Saturday and Sunday...please factor this into your travel itinerary and all outdoor activities.

Enjoy your well-earned time off and let's return ready to meet the challenges ahead.

I wish all of you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and I am personally thankful for all you do for this wing and our Airmen.
