Almost every time we turn on the television or read a magazine these days, there's mention of nutrition and health. But what if someone wanted to talk to a professional about information they read?

Realizing the need, Laughlin's Health and Wellness Center conducted a Brown Bag
luncheon July 30. The luncheon was a casual discussion about nutrition and other topics related to health.

"It was a place where people could bring their peanut butter and jelly sandwich and have a casual talk about all foods," said Christine Anderson, former 47th HAWC dietitian.

Anyone who was interested in getting nutritional facts was welcome at the luncheon.

"The Brown Bag Lunch was a great place for you to understand what exactly you're putting into your body each day," said Anderson.

Although the Brown Bag had its last meeting July 30, Anderson said, "I believe that the meetings held every Wednesday for the last three weeks have helped the people choose a better healthy lifestyle. Many people aren't aware that the little ranch dressing you're eating with that salad is basically the same thing as eating medium French fries."

Anderson said she lives by the quote, "If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got. So if your eating habits aren't so great, change it a little and choose a healthier lifestyle."
