New GTC arrives mid-August Published July 30, 2008 By 1st Lt. Courtney Kippenberger 47th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Laughlin's government-travel cardholders will begin receiving a new credit card to replace their current one as a result of the government's upcoming change in contract. According to Airman 1st Class Nichole Boardman, 47th Comptroller Squadron, the new credit cards will be distributed through Citibank and are expected to start arriving mid-August via mail. "It is important that members update their address information on their current GTC to ensure they receive their cards in a timely manner. Members can do this by calling the number listed on the back of their GTC," said Airman Boardman. Although members will begin receiving their new card mid-August, the cards don't actually take effect until November 30. Because the current Bank of America GTC will remain active until November 29, members will be responsible for storing their new Citibank GTC in a safe location until it can be activated and used, said Maj. John Hansen, 47th CPTS commander. Members who are in permanent change of station or TDY status during the changeover should be aware that their current Bank of America GTC will not work starting November 30. All charges that need to be made on or after November 30 will need to be made on the member's Citibank GTC. In addition, any charges made by the member on their Bank of America GTC during the last billing period will not transfer over to their Citibank GTC. Members will need to manage both accounts until the Bank of America GTC has been paid in full, said Airman Boardman. Once the member confirms that their Bank of America GTC account has been paid in full, the card can then be destroyed and disposed. Any member that does not currently have a GTC can still apply for a card as the wing undergoes the transition. If members have any questions or concerns, they can contact their Agency Program Coordinator listed below. 47th Force Support Squadron: Airman 1st Class Tiffany Smith Tech. Sgt.
