Laughlin Air Force Base hosted its annual National Prayer Luncheon entitled "Prayer and the Global War" at Club XL Feb. 5.

The National Prayer Luncheon is meant to provide members an opportunity to reaffirm the values upon which our nation was founded.

In addition to being served lunch with co-workers and friends the luncheon also included different types of music, readings and a special keynote speaker.

Air Education and Training Command's Chaplain Col. Howard D. Stendahl was the keynote speaker for the event.

"Chaplain Stendahl is a very motivated and inspirational speaker," said Chaplain Capt. Shannon Workman, 47th Flying Training Wing Chaplain.

"The Day of National Prayer dates back to a historic time in our nation's history where people of all religions gathered to pray for our nation, it's leaders and our nation's great future," said Chaplain Capt. Marshall MacClellan, 47th Flying Training Wing Chaplain. "Our country's great leaders have always called for prayer to guide our nation, and this is a day for Laughlin to the same."
