On Thursday Night, the Cactus Lanes Bowling Center was truly the community gathering place. More than 100 people gathered for one of the most anticipated football games of the season as the Dallas Cowboys welcomed the Green Bay Packers to Texas.

Unless you've experienced it first hand, you can't imagine the mix of fans that gather at the Base Bowling Center to cheer for their favorite teams. The virtual salad bowl of folks from so many different states; each with their own level of interest in any given game makes for a fun and different environment every week.

The games prove to be secondary to the amazing amount of fun that is enjoyed by virtually everyone in attendance. Some go as far as to wear their team colors and even the jersey of their favorite player, while others couldn't even tell you who the two teams playing are.

Initially the Bowling Center opened its doors and extended its hours to offer the viewing of football Sunday and Monday Night Football (All with a footbowl twist). Based on customer desire, management decided to extend the football program to include the Thursday night games, and the community packed the house. There was not a seat to be had, and some even crowded outside the facility to watch the game through the window.
