Laughlin hosts Fall Festival '07

The Laughlin Officers' Spouses' Club will combine family fun and fall decorating into one event from 4 to 9 p.m. at the OSC Fall Festival Oct. 13 at the Laughlin AFB Fam Camp.

"People can expect lots of Fall fun, food, music and activities for everyone, even though the temperatures may not quite be 'Fall-like', said Morgan Arnold, OSC Fall Festival Co-Chair.

Mrs. Arnold said people can be the first to try their hand at scarecrow making or if they aren't artistically inclined, purchase one ready for their yard. A hayride will be offered where the highlight of the route is a stop at Laughlin's own pumpkin patch.

"The crop there is abundant, just waiting for purchase," said Landy Butters, Fall Festival Co-Chair. People will also be able to strike a pose among the hay bales and pumpkins for the best fall pictures.

Food will also be offered from the open grill. "After eating at the open grill, we encourage everyone to head over to the fire pits to rustle up a fresh batch of s'mores," said Arnold. "From scarecrows to crafting, from pumpkins to chocolate - choose whatever strikes your fancy, just don't miss it!"

Tickets for children 2 and older are only $5. This includes a mini pumpkin to decorate, face painting, interactive bubble tower, pumpkin bean bag toss and lots of hands-on art activities. "The creepy finger pen craft, creation of the community quilt and traveling mural are activities sure to become instant classics", said Mrs. Butters.

Adult tickets are $3 and include one free soft drink or other adult beverage, a round of horseshoes or washers, badminton, croquet and more.

This event is sponsored by the Laughlin Officers' Spouses' Club, a private organization.
