Base help desk closes, moves to Kelly Published Sept. 26, 2007 LAUGHLIN AFB, Texas -- The base Network Control Center help desk operations will move to the AETC Consolidated Help Desk beginning Oct. 1. Users should not notice a change in service, since they will still contact the local Client Support Administrator for help. The AETC CHD is operated around the clock throughout the year, even remaining open on holidays. If people require help desk support during non-duty hours, users can call the AETC CHD directly for help. However, during normal duty hours, users should continue to first contact their local CSA. The AETC CHD does have a standard help desk telephone number for command-wide use at DSN 945-2900 or commercial 210-925-2900. CSAs should start calling this number effective Oct. 1. In order to provide the CSAs adequate adjustment time, the current base specific help desk telephone numbers will continue to work for the next 60-days. However, after the 60-day period expires, this is the only number the base CSAs can use to contact the AETC CHD. This CHD is a command-wide initiative to consolidate all AETC Network Control Center help desks into one function. The CHD will act as the single interface between the bases CSA and/or Functional Systems Administrators, NCC, MAJCOM Communications Coordination Center and Air Force Network Operations constructs. The AETC CHD is physically located at Port of San Antonio (sometimes referred to as Kelly USA), adjacent to Lackland AFB, in San Antonio, TX.
