Local production features Laughlin members Published April 12, 2007 LAUGHLIN AFB, Texas -- The spotlight will be on Laughlin members at the Paul Poag Theater, 746 South Main, the last two weekends in April when they perform in Little Shop of Horrors. The play is presented by Del Rio's own award-winning community theater group The Upstagers. The beloved musical comedy about a down-and-out floral assistant who discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for blood will run April 20, 21, 27, and 28 at 8 pm. The show stars numerous Laughlin members including its director, Robert Wade, of the Civilian Personnel Flight, and its romantic leads, Ben Graf, of the 47th Civil Engineer Squadron, who plays Seymour, the budding botanist, and Julia Gray, the wife of an instructor pilot in the 86th Flying Training Squadron, who plays Audrey, the flower shop's cashier and the object of Seymour's affection. Mr. Wade also makes an appearance onstage as the sadistic dentist boyfriend of Audrey. The Greek Chorus of four women, reminiscent of the Supremes, includes Terra Wade, from Legal, and Avery Felton, daughter of a major in the 96th Flying Training Squadron. Fred Brockwell is the producer. In addition the cast includes numerous other individuals with Laughlin ties, including Heather Fife, Jaime Merkle, Genaro Martinez, Technical Sgt Paul Tully, Jessica Horrigan, Staff Sgt. Keith Lewis, Staff Sgt. Teddy Valdes, Hillary Proffit, Tina Tucker and Jim Winters. The technical crew includes Lynn Lozano, David Rhinesmith, Fred Oelrich, Candy Robinson, Denise Rossignol and Lorraine Felton. Tickets for the show are cheaper in advance and can be obtained from Outdoor Recreation, As Always Simply Beautiful, The Firehouse, The Veranda, The Emporium, and Del-Tex RV. Prices in advance are $13 for adults and $9 for students. At the door, tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for students.
