The 86th Flying Training Squadron's basketball team crushed the 47th Force Support Squadron 62-40 to win their fourth Laughlin basket ball championship in four years.

The 86th FTS had all they could handle in the first half.

Nearly every point scored in the first half, was answered with another keeping the two teams neck and neck.

At half time the 86th FTS was ahead 33-26, but they knew it wasn't going to be an easy task to keep the lead against a team like the 47th FSS, said Capt. Matthew Murphy, 86th FTS's coach.

The 86th FTS continued to control the game and increase their lead, allowing them to finish the game with an overwhelming score of 62-40.

Key player 2nd Lt. John Gureckis, 86th FTS, lead the team with 14 points, letting the 47th FSS know he was more than ready to play.

"He has more moves than a U-haul and more heart than a Valentine's day card," said Capt. Murphy, referring to 2nd Lt. Gureckis.

Even though rumored to be losing some players by next year's basketball season, the 86th FTS hopes to be as skilled as the last four years to be able to win a fifth championship next year.
