The Laughlin intramural volleyball season is scheduled to begin August 3, 2015 at the Losano Fitness Center basketball courts.

The season will range from August 3 to mid-October. Games will be played Monday-Friday at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 p.m.

"Intramural sports can help boost morale, release tension and stress, and give the participant a chance to support their squadron, and be a part of the base and Air Force excitement," said Bridget Blassingame, Losano Fitness Center sports director.

Ryan Van Ornum, the Laughlin Youth Center recreation specialist and youth sports director has been involved with coaching for 15 years and will be the coach of the 47th Force Support Squadron volleyball team this season.

"Everyone should live an active and healthy lifestyle to benefit themselves and the mission, and it sets a good example for the kids", said Van Ornum.

The Air Force Sports program is designed to encourage competition, camaraderie, and unit cohesion. This is why active duty members, guard members, reserve members, retirees, Department of Defense I.D. card holders, and age requirement meeting dependents are all allowed to compete.

Intramural sports have been a part of Laughlin for over 70 years and continue to grow and offer an activity Team XL can enjoy.
