Del Rio to host Fourth of July event
Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas -- The city of Del Rio, is hosting a free Fourth of July celebration that is packed full of events and entertainment.
Del Rio has stepped up the events this year by gaining sponsors and more than tripling the amount of money available to fund the celebration, making it bigger than ever before.
"The celebration is non-stop entertainment from 2 p.m. until midnight and it has something for everyone," said Leno Hernandez, city of Del Rio interim public affairs and marketing.
The fireworks will also be bigger and better this year, and for the cost of $1, a shuttle service will provide transportation to and from the Plaza Del Sol Mall and the fireworks and entertainment.
"When I was planning the Fourth of July Celebrations I kept members of Laughlin in mind, I wanted to give them something to be proud of, show them we appreciate their service, and wanted them to feel welcome and to come enjoy it with us," said Hernandez.
