Del Rio and Laughlin will remember those who have fallen while serving in the United States Armed Forces during a ceremony Monday, May 25, at 10 a.m. at the Del Rio Civic Center.

"This is part of the brotherhood of arms... that we stop and remember those who have fallen," said retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Gerald Prather who will serve as the master of ceremonies at this year's event. "Del Rio is a great military town and I know people will take time out to honor our fallen."

While Prather ensures the ceremony goes smoothly, Col. Brian Hastings, 47th Flying Training Wing commander at Laughlin, will be the keynote speaker.

Eva Escobar, Civic Center director, said the event will go on regardless of the day's weather.

"If there is inclement weather, our staff is prepared to move everything in, and we will ensure we honor our fallen veterans," Escobar said.

The event is free and is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.
