LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Job title and unit: 47th Communications Squadron, cyber transport journeyman

Why he XLed: Roman linked the wing's outlook, blackberries, phone, and internet to the global domain. He monitored 125 network components for system availability and negative trends by using the Network Management System. He is a certified PTL and led two squadron training sessions that increased members' endurance and helped to secure the first place Mission Support Group Challenge trophy. Roman also attended four Honor Guard training sessions to help support the 15 member team and increased Honor Guard trainee numbers to eight total.
