LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 47th Medical Group is offering a series of free family advocacy classes open to all base personnel, ranging in topics from baby care to stress management classes, throughout the month of September.
Obstetrics Orientation and "Bundles for Babies": This class is an overview of what to expect during pregnancy. Participants will receive information related to the prenatal period, labor and delivery, and post-partum. Fathers are encouraged to attend. This class is mandatory for all pregnant active duty members. "Bundles for Babies" is included in coordination with the Laughlin Airman and Family Readiness Center. Pediatrics, Tricare, dental, and the Health & Wellness Center will brief on prenatal related topics. Lunch is provided for attendees. Registration is mandatory to attend.

Teen Talk: This class will examine some of the issues teenagers face. Topics include: cyber bullying, building communication, wellness, abusive relationships and other topics specific to teens. Youth do not have to be enrolled at the youth center to attend.

Parenting Essentials: This course will examine some of the issues parents face with teens and children. Topics include: cyberbullying, building communication, drugs and alcohol, suicide prevention, and other topics specific to parents.

Couples Communication: This workshop helps you understand yourself and connect with your partner in more constructive, meaningful ways. You will learn how to communicate effectively about day-to-day events and important issues. Class is designed for all ages and stages of a relationship. Whether engaged, recently married, or have been married for many years, there is always something new to learn and aspects of the relationship to explore.
