Base to host medical town hall meeting Published May 22, 2014 By 47th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Laughlin's Hunt Housing Office is scheduled to host a town hall meeting for all medical beneficiaries associated with the base May 28 at 5 p.m. "In a remote community, the availability of health services is absolutely vital to maintaining a fit and healthy force," said Col. Michael Patronis, 47th Medical Group commander. "Our patients know best what their challenges are. Therefore, Col. Hastings invited the CEO from Val Verde Regional Medical Center, the South Market Director of Humana Military and our staff from the 47th MDG to hold a town hall to hear first-hand from our community. " The town hall meeting will give patients an opportunity to provide feedback to the VVRMC, Humana Military care providers and officials that will help them to provide better service to referral patients. "This is our chance to get the word out to the base about the advancements and technology we have to offer patients," said Angie Prather, VVRMC director of community and hospitality services. "More importantly, it's about developing the relationship between the base and the hospital because you are important to us and we want you to be comfortable while in our care." Anyone is welcome to participate in the meeting. Patients that have been given referrals to the VVRMC or have any concerns about previous service are encouraged to participate. "This opportunity is important to ensuring the communication lines are open and ensures we are attentive to the needs of our community," said Patronis.
