Members of the 47th Medical Group marked National Patient Safety Awareness Week by hosting informational booths March 3 to 7 at various locations on Laughlin.

Patient Safety Awareness Week is an annual education and awareness campaign for health care safety led by the National Patient Safety Foundation. This year's theme is, "Navigate Your Health... Safely."

The booths offered information informing patients on how to receive greater and faster access to their healthcare team.

"We do this every year to show Laughlin families the resources available to them," said Roland A. Rivera, 47th MDG patient safety manager. "All we want is to make our services as convenient and reliable as possible for our patients."

By utilizing Micare and TRICARE online, patients have the ability to take full advantage everything the medical center has to offer.

"The care of our patients is the 47th MDG's number one priority," said Col. Michael Patronis, 47th MDG commander. "National Patient Safety Awareness Week is just a chance for us to reinforce what we do year-round."
