Laughlin Air Force Base and the Del Rio community have once again come together for another officer spouses' club auction held at the J.P. Kress building in Del Rio on March 1.

The event included a silent auction, live auction, raffle, and a meal for those in attendance

"The OSC team did such a great job pulling this together and making it another success," said Maria Doria, OSC advisor.

Last year the event raised enough for $10,000 in scholarships to the applicants in the local area. Scholarships given from the OSC can range from $500 to $2000.

"We won't know exactly how much was raised until the end of the month, when all the bills are settled and the money comes in, but initial indications is it's very close to last year's totals," Doria said.

If anyone is looking to reap the dividend of the action, here are the scholarship guidelines for interested applicants need to include: must be seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the fall of 2014; live in the local area to include Del Rio, Brackettville and Comstock; must possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better; and must be a U.S. citizen. If interested in applying for the Laughlin Officers' Spouses' Club Scholarship, all applications must be turned in by Monday, March 24, 2014.
