LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --

Job title and unit: 87th Flying Training Squadron check flight commander

Why he XLed: He directed the Running With the Bulls event on Nov. 2. He demonstrated superb leadership of an eight person leadership staff. He also was able to receive two in-kind grants for the events. He helped coordinate and lead 67 volunteers with more than 250 man hours. The event raised $63,000 for the county food bank which served more than 36,000 people. He also developed and executed another 10K race which resulted in more than 125 registrations, raising more than $1,900, and provided 1,085 meals for the county food bank.
