Updated changes to VI

LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  Once again, Visual Information has changed due to a contract loss at the end of fiscal 2013. Here at Laughlin, VI now falls under the 47th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs.

Visual Information has photographers available to support location, alert and studio base-level photographic requirements for managerial, operational, training, educational, historical archiving and administrative purposes.

"Our studio photographers have expanded their knowledge on taking photos for assignments, special duty assignments, official passports and citizenship applications," said George McKnight, 47th FTW base visual information manager.

Visual Information also takes a large amount of pictures during official events. Some of the events would include awards, change in command ceremonies and official wing events.

If VI photographers are not available, the public affairs office may offer consumer-grade photographic equipment for self-help.

"Even though VI has been downsized, the public affairs office has worked hard to pick up the extra load effectively," said McKnight.
