Why he XLed: He taught external fixation care to seven medical technicians, raising the medical technician readiness level at Laughlin from 59 to 89 percent. He led the launch of Team XL's Dermatology Clinic, the procuration of $5,000 worth of equipment and the training of two medics, saving $45,000 in referral costs. He also revamped the clinic's functioning ability by shifting and standardizing 15 testing rooms, decreasing the physical fitness test wait-time by 10 minutes. He is a Del Rio Arts Council Board member who oversaw $141,000 funded/organized classes which enhanced the needs for more than 1,000 community members.
