September family advocacy classes Published Aug. 26, 2013 47th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- OB orientation & Bundles for Babies: This class is an overview of what to expect during pregnancy. Participants will receive information related to the prenatal period, labor and delivery, and post partum. Sept. 3, 2013 47th Medical Group training room This class is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Living stress-free: Participants will learn to identify triggers to stress and help them learn appropriate relaxation and visualization skills to handle stress. Sept. 3, 2013 Mental Health conference room This class is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Parenting Essentials: This course will examine some of the issues parents face with teens and children, to include: bullying, drugs and alcohol, suicide prevention, and communication building. Sept. 4, 2013 Mental Health conference room This class is scheduled from 2 to 3 p.m. Val Verde Tour: The Val Verde hospital tour provides Laughlin families a chance to see the facility where they will be delivering. Information includes: the admission process, labor and delivery, post partum, discharge and use of civilian pediatricians during hospital stay. Sept. 9, 2013 Tour commences in front of the Val Verde Regional Hospital gift shop This class is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. 1-2-3 Magic Parenting: This class offers parenting solutions that are easy to learn and work with children ages 2-12. Sept. 9, 2013 Mental Health conference room This class is schedule from 1 to 3 p.m. Couples Communication: This workshop helps you understand yourself and connect with your partner in more constructive, meaningful ways. Sept. 10, 2013 Mental Health conference room This class is scheduled from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Teen Talk (monthly topics): This class will examine some of the issues teenagers face. Topics include: wellness, relationships, communication building and other topics of interest. Sept. 11, 2013 Youth Center This class is scheduled from 4 to 4:30 p.m. To sign-up for a class call 298-6422. You must sign up for each class.
