LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 5th annual Running with the Bulls 5k/10k was recently held at the Brown Plaza in Del Rio, Texas.
The event was coordinated by the Val Verde Loaves and Fishes food pantry with volunteers from Laughlin Air Force Base and the community. This event is designed to help bring in food and support for Del Rio’s local food bank.
In the first four years, the run raised an average of $50,000, and last year’s participants brought in approximately 3,000 pounds of food. This year’s installment of RWTB raised $80,000 for Loaves and Fishes with 477 participants.
All support raised will assist Loaves and Fishes in feeding more than 1,300 families, to include more than 2,400 adults and 460 children. To donate, contact Val Verde Loaves and Fishes at 830-719-0122.
