Niños Navideños, an annual toy drive, took place at the Del Rio Civic Center in Del Rio, Texas, Dec. 19, 2015.

Members of Laughlin Air Force Base, Air Force Junior ROTC cadets, H-E-B employees and many other volunteers came together to provide gifts to 800 needy children.

“Being able to see the kids get their gifts made it all worth it,” said Capt. Steven Parsons, 85th Flying Training Squadron B-flight commander. “It’s always nice to be able to get out and interact with the local community.”

More than 20 members of Laughlin formed an assembly line to pass out the toys.

“It’s an honor to be part of this event, “said Col. Darrell Judy, 47th Flying Training Wing vice commander, during his introduction. “I want to thank everyone who made this event possible, on behalf of Laughlin.”

This event and its volunteers directly affected its participants.

“Look at how happy the kids are, how happy my child is,” said a participating child’s mother. “It’s just a great event.”
