Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas -- Ellie Kay, Heroes at Home founder, spoke to members of the 47th Flying Training Wing on Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, Jan. 27 and 28.
Kay has been traveling to military bases to speak about finance management, stress management and life as a military spouse for more than 10 years, has been a published author for 18, and many if not all of her speaking points come from personal experiences.
Kay is the wife of a career pilot and mother of seven children, three of whom are currently serving in three different branches of the military.
“I am a military mom myself,” Kay explained. “I started out speaking as a volunteer at airman and family readiness centers and began writing a book; before I knew it, I had started an entirely new career.”
During her tour at Laughlin, Kay talked about five relationships every military spouse should have and how to manage your personal finances.
“I believe she truly understands our concerns and wants to help make life a little better for us,” said Erin Thompson, 47th Wing Staff Agency key spouse.”
Kay went on to end her presentation and tour at Laughlin by accepting questions from the audience and providing an autographed book for everyone in attendance.
