Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas --
In a wing-wide effort to make sure Team XL is taken care of after the area was hit by nasty 60 mph winds and hail, Feb. 22 various base agencies are coming together to help.
Various agencies are going above and beyond to make sure servicemembers and their families have access to vital resources.
The Airman and Family Readiness Center is open to any questions regarding non-medical related emergencies like how to get financial assistance if needed, and how to file auto or home insurance claims. “If you feel any financial strain, don’t hesitate to call us,” said Anthony Williams, AFRC consultant. “We’re here to help give you piece of mind.”
The AFRC is located in building 468 and their phone number is 298-5620.
The 47th Flying Training Wing Legal Office is fielding questions regarding the Air Force Claims Service Center. The claims center allows authorized people to have all or a portion of their vehicles deductible or damage paid for. For more information regarding the claims center, please visit the Air Force Claims Service Center website at https://claims.jag.af.mil or call the Laughlin Legal Office at 298-5172.
To reiterate the usable resources and make sure servicemembers and their families were up to speed, Col. Thomas Shank, 47th FTW commander, hosted a town hall at 2:00 and 3:30 p.m. in Anderson Hall, Feb. 24, 2016.
During that time, Shank answered questions from the audience and thanked the Airmen and their families for how they’ve handled the chaotic situation while working toward resuming the mission.
“There’s no place I’d rather be right now,” said Shank. “And that is because of this team I have here in front of me. We’re right back to the mission because of you all; and I thank each and every one of you.” There was an approximately 36-hour lull in the Air Force’s premiere pilot training mission.
