Why he XLed: Capt. Homsher dedicated 85 hours and worked with 21 local organizations in support of the ‘Pilot for a day’ program. During the ‘Pilot for a day’ tour, Homsher guided a five-hour tour visiting seven base agencies. He instructed five sorties that were vital to graduating 11 students three days early. While executing the Runway Supervisory Unit controller tour, he provided assistance to an aircraft in distress. Lastly, Homsher assisted with the command of four instructor pilots and 11 student pilots by reviewing their gradebooks and ensuring zero syllabus deviations.
