July Family Advocacy Classes

The 47th Medical Group is offering a series of free family advocacy classes open to all base personnel, ranging in topics from baby care to stress management classes, throughout the month of July.

 

-Teen Talk: This class will examine some of the issues teenagers face. Topics include:  cyber bullying, building communication, wellness, abusive relationships and more. Youth do not have to be enrolled at the Youth Center to attend.

 

July 8, 2016

Youth Center

6 to 7 p.m.

 

-Obstetrics Orientation and Bundles for Babies: This class is an overview of what to expect during pregnancy. Participants will receive information related to the prenatal period, labor and delivery, and post-partum. Dads are encouraged to attend. This class is mandatory for all pregnant active duty members.

 

July 12, 2016

47th MDG Training Room

8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

 

-Combat Conflict: This class will provide participants education on non-violent methods of problem solving, in identifying skills or managing anger in confrontational situations, and will learn alternative strategies for dealing with anger.

 

July 21, 2016

Mental Health Training Room

3 to 4:30 p.m.

 

-Couples Communication: This class is designed for all ages and stages of relationships. Whether engaged, recently married, or married for years, there is always something new to learn and aspects of the relationship to explore.  

 

July 22, 2016

11:30a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

 

To sign-up for a class, call 298-6422. You must register in order to attend each class. Classes are cancelled the night prior if there are no participants signed up.
